World Food
Programme (WFP) Grant of $ 17,898,551 for Relief and Recovery Assistance
to Conflict Affected Areas SRI PRRO 10067:-
Objectives
Provision of relief
food assistance in North & East to cover the food gap.
Ensure self reliance
of the most vulnerable conflict affected people through relief and recovery
activities.
Components
Relief component.
Relief rations of
55,512 mt of commodities 2002 to 2004 (3yrs).
Commodities consist
of rice, pulses, sugar, salt & CSB.
Basic daily food
needs of 77,000 displaced persons living in 194 welfare centres presently
will be scaled down to 37,000 at end of project period (2004).
Recovery component
– consists of 4 sub components
Support nutritional
improvement – number of feeding beneficiaries in 2002 will be 37,000
rising to 126,000 in 2004.
Promote self reliance
– family rations will be issued for food for work (FFW) activities.
Provide training
and input –non-food assistance will be provided for vocational skills
training.
Support for psychosocial
programmes – family food rations will be provided to children who
attend training in Psycho –social programs.

Objectives
Minimizing injuries
and fatalities caused by traffic accidents through improvement
of the overall road safety situation in Sri Lanka.

safety standards through HRD regarding methods and techniques for the
performance of activities.
Scope
of the TA
Road safety component
(RSC), consulting services is implemented.
Local currency portion
of the consulting services of the road safety is financed.
Environmental impact
assessment of the main project will be followed relevant to road safety
component.
HRD specified in
TOR and job descriptions is undertaken for the Ministry of Highways,
RDA and Road safety secretariat.
Conditions
Procurement of goods
, work and services shall be in accordance with Nordic Competitive bidding
.
Among others final
result analysis report and full audited financial statement shall be
submitted.

in Yen and make payments for the purchase by GOSL operate through
yen ordinary deposit account.
Conditions:

accrued interest should be utilized against eligible imports of products
through LCs within a reasonable period after grant is executed.
